The bride and Groom (both named Leigh) had a blast – great crowd – great atmosphere!  After 11 years together the wedding was exactly what they wanted – fun, relaxed and no soppy cheesy stuff

I vetoed a photographer years ago and said I would never work with him again (abusive to the bride etc etc) and have said to clients who were considering him that they’d have to choose between him and me … luckily they’ve all chosen me 

So, after the most unpleasant experience yesterday – I now veto King Ludwigs.  People if you want to suffer in her torture chamber – choose another celebrant. 

Happily though – the wedding went smoothly and no-one was the wiser that we were just about to rip each other’s hair out 

Thank you so much for our awesome ceremony! It was so fun and relaxing. I loved how you took our homework and made it about us in the ceremony. Everyone had so much fun and said what a great ceremony it was. You’re awesome! It was so good to laugh in the ceremony, I couldn’t imagine how it would have gone had we selected a more “normal” celebrant. I think your casual, fun style made me feel super relaxed and not nervous at all. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll definitely recommend you if someone needs a celebrant.

If you’ve got it flaunt it I always say …. I havent had any of my brides turn up in anything quite like this lovely’s …. but i have had some very small wedding dresses which didnt leave much to the imagination.  The groom usually looks smug and the guests look shocked.   I love it!  Dare to be different I say.

Adele and Tim

I just received a beautiful email from Adele (who married Tim at the fabulous Clios in Palmwoods.  She wrote me a lovely thankyou (which I’ve added to my love notes page – so check it out) … and here’s a pic of her looking radiant and enjoying some sort of cheekiness (not necessarily from me mind you – by probably!)

Being winter, its not a huge time for weddings and i’m somewhat thankful for that because i’m so bloody busy with other stuff!   ok – so my life at the moment :

wife to the lovely Ken Maguire – this is easy – he’s beautiful and supportive

mother to the fantastic Bronte Maguire – this is also easy – she keeps me laughing

student at University of the Sunshine Coast – in my first year of a PhD … and at the moment thinking :  “wtf did you do that for?”    Watch out! in three years when I can legally say “I’m not a doctor but I’ll take a look at it for you” … I’ll tell you whether it was worth it…

President to Golden Key International Honours Society (on the USC Campus) – and have been for a number of years – its a brilliant organisation and we do great work for communities and charities – I’ve loved my time but I know its coming to an end.  I cant do everything  ….

Acting President for the USC Student Guild.  The Guild on campus has been dormant for a number of years and as President of GK I was asked to try and resurrect it.  So this has been taking much of my time and energy … alot of brain cells have been used in the making of the Guild – hopefully none were injured.  I’ll let you know.

of course – celebranting with my lovelies – you wont be surprised that I find my celebranting a joy in my life – its my social life (aaaarhghghg i’m a tragic – its official).

so that’s me – for the moment …. I think this blog will do alot of “taking the piss” out of the wedding industry – so if you dont have a sense of humour maybe check out someone else’s blog ….
